Risen and IKEA light up Marsden Park: 4,000 panels on one rooftop
IKEA’s Western Sydney distribution centre now runs on a 2,034 kW Risen rooftop system — lifting the site’s renewable energy use from 26% toward its sustainability targets.
Risen Energy Australia has partnered with IKEA to complete a large-scale rooftop solar project at the retailer’s Marsden Park distribution centre in Western Sydney.
The facility now carries more than 4,000 Risen solar panels across 9,000 square metres of rooftop, delivering a generation capacity of 2,034 kW and sharply lifting the site’s share of renewable energy from its previous 26%.
The project supports IKEA Australia’s broader sustainability program — the company reports an 89% reduction in operational climate footprint since FY16 — and stands as a benchmark for integrating renewable energy into large-scale retail logistics.
